Opportunity: Polish Energy Giant ORLEN Searches for Deeptech Startups via Skylight Accelerator Program

We are excited to share an excellent opportunity for deeptech startups, spin-offs, and spinouts: Poland’s largest energy company, ORLEN, has launched a new recruitment round for its ORLEN Skylight Accelerator program.

The initiative’s core goal is to collaboratively test and develop innovative technologies within a real industrial environment, focusing on challenges submitted directly by various business areas within the ORLEN Group (including companies from the Energa Group).

The recruitment process for this round runs until November 30th.

Focus Areas and Challenges
The program is seeking solutions that support key strategic areas, including:
  • Energy Transformation: Intelligent wind farm management systems and innovations in renewable energy.
  • Digitalization: AI platforms for energy connection services, Digital Twin solutions for process risk analysis, and digital work organization.
  • Efficiency: Heat recovery, free cooling, and trigeneration technologies, and circular economy innovations.
  • Customer Experience & Safety: Voicebots, tools for customer satisfaction analysis, and AI solutions for workplace safety.
From Testing to Implementation
The ORLEN Skylight Accelerator operates on a non-equity model, ensuring that participants retain full intellectual property rights. Selected startups will receive:
  • Funding for pilots.
  • Access to ORLEN’s industrial infrastructure.
  • Expert support to guide practical testing and development.

To date, the program has conducted over 40 pilots, with 10 successful implementations moved into regular operation.
