On November 28th, Tech-Park Kaunas innovation community hosted a virtual Innovators’ Breakfast x atTRACTION, an engaging session dedicated to defense and dual-purpose and defence technologies. The event gathered innovators, entrepreneurs, and defense experts to discuss current advancements, investment opportunities and explore how startups can contribute to national security while addressing broader technological needs. The session featured insights from the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense and the internationally recognized startup AI Drone.Tech.
Keynote speaker Colonel (ret.) Romualdas Petkevičius, Director of the Defense Industry Policy and Innovation Department, shared opportunities for businesses to align with Lithuania’s defense objectives. He emphasized the essential role of innovative technologies in enhancing national security and outlined how startups and companies can actively participate in defense projects.
Laurynas Česūnas, CEO of AI Drone.Tech, delivered an inspiring presentation on the startup’s groundbreaking autonomous drone technologies. From targeting stationary and mobile threats to overcoming signal disruptions, their solutions are redefining drone autonomy for critical missions. The startup’s exploration into AI-powered target recognition in investors’ community also sparked curiosity about the future of smart defense tools. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where participants explored the challenges of creating dual-purpose innovations. Investment tendencies and homework to prepare for public and funding and co-funding projects were also highlighted during the online event.
