Final Report Highlights €5.4 Million in Cross-Border Investment Mobilised

The atTRACTION project has published its final monitoring report, showcasing the results achieved throughout the initiative and the lessons learned in strengthening innovation ecosystems across Europe.

The report confirms that connecting regional ecosystems with investors, accelerators, incubators, universities and startups can generate measurable impact and unlock new investment opportunities for deep-tech ventures.

Over the course of the project, atTRACTION significantly exceeded many of its key performance targets. Investor participation reached more than four times the original goal, while engagement from technology transfer offices, incubators, ecosystem partners and startups surpassed expectations across all participating regions.

Key Results

  • 544 investor participations recorded throughout project activities.
  • Strong growth in startup scouting, activation and international pitching opportunities.
  • Expanded collaboration with incubators, accelerators and innovation ecosystem organisations.
  • Increased cross-border cooperation between Lithuania, Poland and Spain.
  • 4 international investment deals completed, exceeding the project target of three.
  • Approximately €5.4 million in cross-border investment capital mobilised.

Lessons Learned

The report highlights that sustainable innovation growth requires more than startup support alone. Long-term success depends on strong ecosystem connections, investor engagement and collaboration between regional innovation actors.

The monitoring process also demonstrated the importance of continuous learning and adaptation. Insights gathered throughout the project helped refine activities, strengthen regional participation and improve investment readiness outcomes.

Most importantly, the results show that place-based innovation initiatives can create tangible economic impact within a relatively short timeframe when supported by structured collaboration and international networks.

As the project concludes, atTRACTION leaves behind a stronger foundation for future cross-border investment and innovation cooperation across Europe.
